Friday 9th September, the day I collected the keys. Opened the hatch and entered a whole new world of excitement! I managed to open the hatch and got into the boat without taking my head off, no mean feat I can assure you. My buddy Lisa ( who has a lot more boating experience than me) came and saved any possible future embarrassment by making sure I got to know my Bow from Stern and Port from Starboard. A good start all around!

That evening we appreciated more than ever that there is something truly, ridiculously, beautiful, tranquil and magical about this place. There was open air theatre going on on the next slipway, two swans glided up to the boat. Garry said all we need know is a unicorn and we are sorted! This place just can't help but make you feel happy.
Before we bought the boat I had watched a documentary/ film called "What the bleep, down the rabbit-hole". The way the film is staged is a bit odd, but some of the thinking and theories are wowsa. The section about water has always stuck in my mind. Sitting here makes me think about it again.
Its well worth watching the clip. An experiment recorded that water crystals reacted to positive affirmations when frozen by forming beautiful symmetrical crystals. Negative affirmations the crystals become chaotic.
If the words and thoughts that come out of us have this effect on water crystals, its amazing to think of what kind of effect they have on the people and events that come into our lives.
And.... Is it the people who come visit here, create such a happy peaceful energy, which gets absorbed by the water and it throws it back out. Or is the peaceful energy of the water that we tap into! Either way its a joy to be by water and this place is no exception. To happy water and happy days!
